All sessions include the session itself, full access to my extensive client closet, online styling assistance, plus your choice of 30 fully edited/retouched digital images with print release. Once your gallery is delivered, you will be able to select your chosen images. If you would like more than the included set of images, you may upgrade your gallery at that time for a small upgrade fee. The amount of images included in your gallery will vary per session, but may have anywhere from 50-125 images (family sessions tend to have the most photos). There is a $250 non-refundable session retainer due upfront to book. However, this retainer is applied towards the total session price. The remaining balance is then due one week prior to your session date.
This can vary a bit depending on the type of session, but generally anything involving children is no more than 45-60 minutes. — That’s usually as long as they will tolerate, and I’d rather end the session on a fun, happy note than push them and have it turn it into an unpleasant experience. For families with older children or larger families, sessions may run anywhere from 60-75 minutes (or until we run out of light). Newborn sessions are typically right around 2 hours (sometimes longer), depending on the needs/temperament of your baby, nursing/feeding breaks, if there are siblings along, etc.
I go through this in more depth in the client welcome guide (sent after booking), but I can help as much or as little as you’d like with wardrobe! All clients will have access to a complimentary online styling website, which I highly recommend utilizing! Honestly, I cannot say enough great things about this tool and what a difference it makes in the overall look and vibe of your session! By answering just a few quick questions, you can completely customize stylish outfits for the whole family. You can then use your results simply for inspiration, or you can purchase outfits directly through the online links provided. You can truly shop without even leaving your couch — it’s amazing! Alternatively, I also have an extensive client closet full of dresses for moms and a large array of rompers/outfits for babies 6-18 mo old, as well as toddlers 2T- size 7/8. You are welcome to borrow any items you wish from my client closet to either fully style your family, or to simply compliment what you have already picked out. Ask me questions. Text me photos. Just yourselves! I bring a large blanket to family sessions, but aside from that I am completely prop-free for outdoor sessions. For studio sessions, I have a full collection of blankets, wraps, headbands and bonnets for newborns, as well as outfits for babies and dresses for toddlers and mamas - nothing else is needed!
In order to capture the most beautiful and flattering light, outdoor sessions are held approximately one hour prior to sunset. I use sunrisesunset.com to track sunset based on the time of year & will use this to schedule your session start time. If you have little ones and are worried about bedtime, I recommend scheduling either in the Spring or Fall when sunset is earlier in the evening. Otherwise adjusting nap time a bit for the day in 100% worth it. Studio sessions are held late morning or early afternoon for best lighting in my studio. All sessions are held weekdays, Monday through Thursday. I do not take weekend sessions.
I do not offer extended family sessions at this time. This includes anyone beyond Mom, Dad & immediate children/siblings. (I.e. Grandparents/aunts/uncles/nieces/etc. fall into the extended family category). I currently offer sessions for immediate family only, as that best fits my expertise and style! That said, I am more than happy to refer you to a few amazing photographers that can rock the extended families!
